Johannesburg, South Africa, during the final stages of the 2010 World Cup.
A few days before Sunday’s World Cup final, I spoke with Nylon
Mphahlele – chairman of the Greater Johannesburg branch of the Kaizer Chiefs
supporters’ club – about the experience of a World Cup in his own country, how
overseas fans took to cuisine such as pap and boerewors, and how the
Premier Soccer League in South Africa might be affected when things return to
normal.
